Revolution Analytics recently commissioned a benchmark study designed to test the relative performance of Revolution R Enterprise and SAS/STAT across a range of tasks.  In this webinar, we describe the methodology, benchmarking environment and results achieved.  We also provide detailed information that will enable webinar participants to replicate the tests on alternate hardware environments. Revolution Analytics' customer, DataSong, analyzes terabytes of data every day for its brand name retail clients such as Neiman Marcus and Williams-Sonoma to help them accurately attribute marketing spend to revenue. Being able to pinpoint the cause of purchasing behavior allows marketers to avoid spending money on activities that don't drive results, and invest in those that do. DataSong's CEO, John Wallace, will talk about the impact that very fast performance at very large scale has had on his firm's productivity and the accuracy of the results they achieve for clients.

Thomas is Director of Product Management for Revolution Analytics. Prior to joining Revolution Analytics, Thomas was an Analytics Solution Architect in IBM Big Data Solutions, where he helped clients build analytic enterprises with IBM PureData System for Analytics (Powered by Netezza). Over the past 25 years he has led or contributed to analytic solutions for more than five hundred clients across vertical markets and around the world. Although his roots are in hands-on customer analytics, in the past fifteen years Thomas has expanded the scope of his experience to include analytic software applications and broader solutions including database integration and web applications. As a project lead, he has worked with DB2, Oracle, Netezza, SQL Server and Teradata. Thomas is certified in SAS, and has working experience with the leading analytic tools available in the market today, including R, SPSS, and Oracle Data Mining.

John Wallace has a long and successful track record applying data mining techniques to complex business problems, and specializes in designing applications to analyze customer profitability, customer loyalty, product profitability and product quality. His focus is on multichannel attribution and customer targeting.

His experience spans the automotive, financial services, ISP, grocery, wireless, retail, PC/server and consumer software industries. As the founder of DataSong, he has managed application development teams, created system architecture, developed new analytical methodologies, and estimated complex models. He leverages techniques including text mining, response modelling, segmentation, and hazard modelling. John holds an MBA in Decision Science from George Washington University.
